Review of Savannah College of Art and Design

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

I have learned so much during my first quarter at SCAD. I can easily see an improvement in all of my artwork. The professors have worked in the field and some currently do so they know what they are talking about.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

I am having so much fun. It is quite simple to make new friends and we all have had a good time here so far. There is always something to do everyday its hard to be bored. They have companies come and visit every week. SCAD also hosts its own film festival and I met a bunch of people who currently work in the field.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

SCAD like most art schools is a bit pricey but from my experience it is worth the price. You get a quality education from the beginning. Once you include in all the resources provided and just the reputation of the school you are getting a deal. After considering all I have gained from one quarter I can assure you the price is reasonable. Also SCAD has tons of scholarship and grant opportunities.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

1. Apply early even if you are not sure. The application is cheap and you have a better chance of receiving a scholarship. 2. If you love art this is the school for you. 3. Don't worry about being the best at the beginning everyone is. The whole point of going to school is to learn and be better. Trust me you will see the progression in your artwork after only a couple weeks.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

1. Determined 2. Motivated 3. Artistic
