from St.Louis, MO

Describe your college in three sentences.

St.Louis Community College Meramec campus by far is very organized and well connected. The professors are always prepared and on topic, the students care about their assignments and grades. I enjoy the assistance they offer to students for more support out of the class rooms.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Even if you take just 12 credit hours be prepared to have time to do homework and out of class assignments. Having a part time job if necessary should not be a reason to effect your school work. Be ready to take as much notes as you can, you can never have enough notes. Always be sure to revise your notes and re-write them to study.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

You must have at least a 2.0 before you will be placed on academic probation and guided to bring failing grades up. Once your grade in a class lowers it's tough to bring it back up and requires full attention.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

Throughout the campus their are vending machines with healthy choices of snacks. The cafeteria has a wide variety of healthy meals to select from. It's spacious and a clean eating area.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

Meramec campus has a ton of fun clubs to choose from, you can even take elective classes from painting/drawing to a musical class.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

Academic Center, Math Center and Writing Center are a huge plus! You can go to each one and get all the help you want for just being a student, the campus library has private rooms you can study in or with groups, there is even a quite area to study in and not worry about hearing noises.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

Meramec campus has a great variety of clubs and organizations. They have free Friday movie nights, they have clubs from Chemistry Club to Sculpture Club. They have a list of special events and festivals that are also free to attend.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

At Meramec you will find a helpful and friendly staff of campus police that assist with vehicle related problems such as jump starts and lockouts. They will assist students to their cars upon request, and handle lost-and-found items.
