I love the school! Would recommend living or working on campus, as you will meet a lot of people quickly. Students are friendly overall, and so are the majority of professors that I have had.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Always check out different events! Great way to meet new people and learn about their experiences with college. Also if try to avoid 8ams if you're not a morning person. Most freshman come in thinking that because they could do it in high school they can do it here but that is not the case. Most people I've talked to about this always regret taking them.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
The difficulty of a class typically depends on the teacher as well as the subject. You will be expected to do a lot more reading in shorter time periods, but you also will have more time to get it done. Plan your class schedule accordingly. The class difficulty depends on the teacher as well. When you sign up for classes ask around and see what people think of different professors!
Describe the dorm life at your college.
I have lived on campus for the past three years now and completely recommend it! While a lot of people tend to go home on weekends, it gives you the perfect opportunity to study in a quiet place. If you're an incoming freshman it should be easy to make friends by attending the events in your building and introducing yourself to other people in your dorm.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The food is alright. This is usually the biggest complaint people have when it comes to living here. There aren't a ton of options when it comes to food, especially when it comes to healthier options.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Go to different events on campus, there is always at least one activity every week that you can go to. Every Wednesday there are events hosted by Sojourn that are always super fun!
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
College wise it is quite affordable.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Has a great education and nursing program!
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
One of the best groups to get involved in is Sojourn! Everyone there is super friendly and its probably the quickest way to make a lot of friends if you're new to the school.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
Extremely safe campus! I have no issue going for runs or walks around campus anytime between midnight and 3am. Everyone is also really friendly!
