I think the small class size is a great learning environment. I believe student will succeed in a room where they can speak one on one with their professor. The academic, as well as, athletic programs are very strong and are a great place for students to learn in and out of the classroom.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Stay on task. Just because it is a community college does not mean the academic part is watered down. My mother attended both Ohio University- Athens, and Ohio University- Lancaster and she believed the academic work were very similar.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
Ohio University - Lancaster (OUL) offers many different timed classes to fit your work schedule. The classes are very challenging and really test your academic competence.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
OUL is a community college so there are no dorms on campus.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
There is a small mess hall, The Zone, and offers great food as well as on-the-go snacks.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
There are many athletic clubs to be apart of. I myself am captain of the OUL Baseball team. We also offer Men's, and Women's Basketball, Tennis, Golf, and Volleyball.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
The tuition is definitely worth it. It is half the amount as a main campus's tuition.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
We also offer a few honor societies. I am apart of Phi Theta Kappa which recognizes students with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
All types of students would enjoy OUL because of how great the staff works to improve their campus in and out of the classroom.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
Baseball, softball, basketball, golf, volleyball, and other intramural clubs.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
There is always a Lancaster Police officer on duty during class hours and there is still an on duty police officer after hours when the athletic teams are practicing.
