Review of Muhlenberg College

from Voorhees, NJ

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

The professors truly care about your progress and the liberal arts philosophy really allows you to challenge yourself in a variety of academic areas.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

The people of Muhlenberg are really, really friendly, which lends itself to creating a fun community environment. Muhlenberg is definitely not a party school like some of the bigger state schools, but it is easy to have a good time! On the downside, Allentown is a pretty boring place.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

Muhlenberg is an expensive school, but as a small, private, liberal-arts institution, you definitely get what you pay for. The education is top-notch and the faculty and staff reflect the top-dollar price tag. The financial aid office is really good about accommodating the needs of everyone.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Come prepared with a smile, a NorthFace jacket and a good work ethic! If Muhlenberg is your first choice, definitely apply early decision and everyone should interview if you can. Also, come out for a campus tour and information session... the admissions department loves visitors and will make sure your experience is wonderful.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

Muhlenberg is the school for you if you enjoy a close-knit community, want professors who know your name (and your last test grade!), appreciate the arts and can understand less-conventional types of diversity. Our pre-health programs (and all sciences for that matter) are absolutely fantastic as are Muhlenberg's performing arts programs.
