The education here at Marquette is outstanding! The professors are very organized and will tell you the first day of class what is expected throughout the semester and what it will take to earn that A. Every professor has office hours during which you can go in, chit chat, get homework help, or a better understanding of lecture material. Many professors go where students study just to talk with them or help them with anything they need. The atmosphere and the faculty and staff is what made me want to come to Marquette!
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
I have never met a person who came to Marquette and was not absolutely in love with this school! Being in downtown Milwaukee, this campus is surrounded by great places to go with friends and family, and the students are always ready to have a good time when the time comes! The Eagle Ballroom is a couple blocks away which makes it super easy to go to a great concert any given weekend. Summers in Milwaukee are also great because of Summerfest, Brewers games (even though I'm a die-hard Cubs fan!), and the museums, only a short bus ride away. Anyone who's a sports fan will enjoy Marquette come basketball time! The students take over Bradley Center and really show their school pride throughout the whole game, win or lose! The whole campus is a family!
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
The tuition is STEEP! But it is very much worth it. The education you receive here will teach you leadership, professionalism, and provide you with so many opportunities as you grow as student.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Some tips for incoming and prospective students is to apply for scholarships before you come here! Many scholarships available to incoming/prospective students are renewing scholarships, meaning you won't ever have to apply for them again! It can really lift a burden from your shoulders (and your parents!) if you receive any.
Another tip I have to get involved early! There is an event called O-Fest in the beginning of the fall where all the student organizations go on campus to recruit you! Get involved with as many as you can, believe me, you will have time your freshmen year! As you get older, you can decide which organizations mean the most to you and stick with them.
Get out and enjoy the city! You get a free U-Pass as a full-time student which gives you free public transportation. Explore Milwaukee!
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Marquette is great for any student who really wants to get a great education and also have fun. It's size is just right for someone wanting to enjoy great big opportunities, yet small enough that the professors will remember your name. Marquette has a diverse course of studies and is constantly trying to grow!
