Describe your college in three sentences.

The perfect place for stars looking to shine. Our stars do not only show up at night. They shine during the good times of our country, contributing to society in a positive way. They also shine during the bad times of our country, standing up for equality and leading our nation towards justice.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

SATS!! GOOD SCORES=GOOD MONEY The more you come out of pocket on the less you can enjoy on campus. Less events you can pay for like homecoming, broccoli fest, Bison Ball, Bison run etc. Unless you have money :)

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

Just enough. Of course some courses are more challenging than others. Some professors ask for more than others. Howard teaches you how to balance life and play. Some schools force you to focus only on work that when they get out into the world on their own they struggle to find a balance. Some schools allow you to have too much fun and we all know how detrimental that would be to you're success. Howard is practice for the real world.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

Up & coming! Thanks to New Howard we have 2 new dorms that resemble hotels and have adequate security so you feel safe yet can enjoy yourself.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

Up coming as well. New cafeteria made with cool hot sandwich station that I'll argue tastes better than Potbelly's, Subway, and especially Quiznos! We have a cool new stir fry station, waffles & ice cream every day all day, Soul food Thursday's with mac & cheese, baked & fried chicken and fish, delicious corn muffins, greens, bbq ribs sometimes, rice if you want & much more. Of course we have pizza, pasta, & hot dogs & hamburgers. We have vegetarian options as well. Meal plans are accepted in both dining cafeteria's. Theres levels too If your anti-social , upper blackburn is for you. It is quiet with relaxing music and usually nobody in there. Lower cafe used to be the place for the social its however the new cafe stole the spot light! With its new amenities, the new cafe has quickly become the ideal place to eat. Finally! every first friday , we have first fridays in Punchout ( another dining area in Blackburn) where there is a taco station, custom pasta & pizza station, wow wings and a chinese spot too. On first fridays, the orgs come out and dance with us regular folk haha! Just kidding. But its a great time to show off your dance moves and hang out with friends in between 12-2 pm.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

well! Living at Howard is fun.Im on my freshman -sophomore summer break right now ready to get back to school! Theres literally something for everybody. Of course we have parties all the time. There are debates, fashion shows, open mic, org events and more all on campus. Off campus theres the usual things you'd find in any great city. We've got monuments, malls and shopping centers, museums, clubs, concerts, plenty of restaurants and more. If you're bored here, it is because you are in your room. But even in your room, you can watch tv, get on the computer, and in the dorms we have community television, gyms, pool tables and little games to play. My favorite thing to do in the dorm is to play the piano and sing/ record video's in our really aesthetically pleasing lounges.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

Its a lot of buck but after one month you'll see why and wouldn't mind paying.
