Fairfield University offeres a variety of majors within each designated school. There is more than a lot to do on campus, both academic and extracurricular. The campus is a beautiful, welcoming home.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
It is okay to come to Fairfield with an undecided major. The core is an excellent way to explore what you might possibly like, and to decide what doesn't interest you at all.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
Each professor has different standards when it comes to the classroom. Some professors will be very easy, and others incredibly difficult. Some may assign homework every night, when others may only ask you to review the material learned in class that day. If you would like to take a challenging class, then Fairfield has plenty to offer. If you want to try an easier, intro level course, then those are available as well. But no matter professor you are taking, each and every one of them pushes you to do your best!
Describe the dorm life at your college.
The freshman dorms are live-able. There is no air conditioning, but it isn't much of a problem because it is only hot for the first few weeks. Roommates are random for the first years, however the roommate situation usually works out for the best. Each dorm provides a sense of community through community building events and activities.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The food is moderate, but better than most college cafeterias. Sometimes the choices are few, but there is a stir-fry station with many ingredients each night. The dining hall is what you make of it.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Clubs, organizations, intramurals, and more! Fairfield offers more extracurriculars than you can handle. Whether it be hanging out on the quad with friends, going to grab a cup of coffee, or tanning on the library lawn, there is always something to do!
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
I always feel safe on my campus. There are emergency buttons all throughout campus if ever needed.
