Completing an undergraduate degree in Marketing, as well as a Master in Business Administration from Eastern's College of Business, I found the faculty to be involved, supportive, and incredibly dedicated. You will learn from industry-leaders. I left with two degrees that put me in a competitive position for obtaining jobs in my field.
Did enjoy being here
As with any college/university, getting involved is critical to your success in college. If you expect a college to drag you from your dorm room and show you a good time, you will be disappointed anywhere you go. I found getting involved in academic groups and the Greek system to be extremely valuable to my overall college experience. I also worked on campus (Eastern Echo, Campus Life, and Dining Services) which were great places to meet lifelong friends and feel more involved. In addition, I lived in the residence halls for three years. Eastern has great living and dining options -- it was in the residence halls that I met many people who are most special to me still today.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
With a variety of academic, athletics, and merit-based scholarships and grants available, Eastern Michigan can be an affordable option for many. Graduate assistantships can also make earning an advanced degree very cost-effective. Ohio residence share in-state tuition rates with Michigan residents which is an added perk!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Live on campus (for at least one year). The freshman center is a great place to meet friends and comfortably get involved. Be flexible with your major! I changed mine 3 times my first two years until I settled into business. I definitely made the right choice for me!
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Students who are naturally outgoing, bright, and dedicated to making their college experience memorable.
