Review of Duquesne University

from Salisbury, MD

Describe your college in three sentences.

Duquesne is a beautiful and small campus. You can walk the entire length of the campus in under 20 minutes. Class sizes are small and professors are very willing to help a struggling student.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Depending on your major you can have a lot to a little amount of homework. Most homework includes reading textbooks or novels. Be focused on school, but have fun. DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT PROCRASTINATE.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

The classes are tough, but passable if you do the work and do not spend all your time goofing off. Studying is the key and so is attending office hours if you are struggling.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

Every LLC is set up differently on the inside and houses different grades and some mix genders. Every LLC hosts different events for their residents and the room sizes are decent.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

Lots of food options on and around campus and most accept your student flex, basically cash that is a part of your meal plan. There is an all you can eat buffet, Starbucks, Chick fil a, market, mexican place, and more.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

Weekly there are different events held but different groups and clubs to get students involved and social. Dances, game nights, movie nights, and parties near in the city.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

It is a very expensive private school but it is worth the money. The equipment they provide you with in the classroom and all the amenities balance out. Free laundry!!

Which types of students will excel at your college?

Hard workers, focused on school but love to have a little fun, health science majors, law majors, undecided majors.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

Football, cheer leading, track, swim team, game club, International Students Organization, Latin American Student Association, SGA, and much more.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

Loads of different fraternities and sororities, academic, major-based, and social.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

Students receive emails from campus security and staff anytime a situation occurs on campus, even something as small as a power outage in a building. You will know about everything that happens.
