Review of Cottey College

Describe your college in three sentences.

Cottey College is a dedicated, high preforming and unique school with a diverse community dedicated to the higher education of women. The small numbers create a close knit campus that creates an ideal learning environment. The dedicated faculty and staff as well as the hard working student body come together to create a one of a kind educational journey.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Go in with an open mind. Just because its a small, all womens college doesn't mean you should over look it. sometimes smaller is better and you realize that gaining a few more friends is better than a boyfriend could ever be. Cottey is the place to find your brides maids. this school not only has wonderful educational opportunities, but also is a great place to form life long friendships.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

It is college after all, not high school. Overall, you need to be ready to work for your grade. Well it may seem difficult at first, know that the faculty is very willing to help as well as the student body.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

One of my favorite parts of cottey is getting to live with and getting to know the women with whom you live with. the dorms are suite style so you share a kitchen, bathroom and living area with 10 or so other people. often, these are the people with whom you create life long friendships with.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

We have a professional chef that designs and oversees the creating of the weekly menu each week, and boy is is good!

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

truthfully, Nevada doesn't have a whole lot to offer in they way of being a college town. Thankfully, Cottey brings on entertainers, movies, speakers and other activities to the campus as well as offering outings to places like Joplin and Kansas City.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

Cottey takes all of its second year students on a out of country trip for spring break, paid for by the school. these trips have included anywhere from London, England to Thailand.
