Review of Colorado State University-Fort Collins

from Englewood, CO

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

This university has one of the best Natural Sciences programs in the country so I am privileged to be able to attend and learn from some of the most talented professors. Each one of my professors is passionate and outspoken on the subject that they teach as well as eager to make sure I learn and succeed in the process.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

The environment is incredible, the atmosphere is very laid back and friendly. Fort Collins is an amazing town and makes me feel right at home. The town is just as supportive and pumped about the university as the student body, so even the locals are very friendly. There is a clear balance between academics and social life at CSU so people don't get caught up in one or the other. It's very easy to get overwhelmed with academics but CSU does a great job of promoting school events and giving the opportunity to release some of that stress.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

Every college is obviously going to cost a decent amount but CSU is worth every penny. The knowledge I have learned in addition to the social experience I have had is completely worth the cost. There is plenty of financial aid out there to lower the cost of tuition but even without that, there should be no price tag on the knowledge, friends and experiences that will come out of an incredible journey at CSU.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

If you're a freshman, get involved with your hall. They are the people you will be living with for an entire year, become friendly with them when you first move in and you will have a better social experience. Also, take advantage of all the sporting events that CSU has. They are very fun to attend especially when you show school spirit get pumped for the athletic team.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

CSU is great for any type of student. I have honestly met a plethora of students and not one hasn't felt part of the CSU community. There will be something or some group on campus that you will feel part of and CSU does a great job of making sure that happens. In the beginning of the year, there is a couple of club fairs that can really help get a student involved, that is the best way to find your niche.
