Review of Cleveland State University

from Cincinnati, OH

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

While CSU may not be the most widely talked about school, what it lacks in notoriety, it gains in education. While I am only going into my sophomore year, my first year has had so many engaging professors, all willing to help each student gain knowledge and grow. Most professors seemed to really care, and many pushed me to think in ways I never would have before. On top of that, being an athlete, all of the teachers were incredibly willing to accommodate to my schedule and help me learn the most I could with my time restrictions.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

One thing I love about CSU is how incredibly open all the students are to one another. With so many clubs and sports teams, it is easy to find a group of people who share the same likes as you. A very diverse place to be, and just outside of downtown, there is always something going on. Cleveland has a variety of people, all looking for a fulfilling education and a fun time. I wouldn't go to any other school.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

The great thing about Cleveland is how much you get for the little you pay. The education is great, filled with professors who really care. On top of that, the amount of food you get is a great perk! The dorms are probably the nicest you could imagine, with a lot of space. It seems like CSU has some of the nicest facilities while you don't pay as much as you would for other colleges. On top of that, Cleveland offers a plethora of scholarships for those who can't afford it!

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Don't be afraid to ask questions! When you go on your college visit, ask students who go there what their opinion is. They will give you the real details, telling you where to go for a good bite, where you can meet a lot of friends, which teachers to avoid, which teachers to aim for, where to get extra help, etc. Those personal questions are ones you need to ask to see if the college is right for you!

Which types of students will excel at your college?

CSU is a great place for students who want a standout education, to be involved in a close knit community of people, and who want to have a good time.
