Central New Mexico Community College was the BEST decision I have ever made. I enjoy school so much I will be graduating with honors December 2013. I love school, I am transferring to University of New Mexico to continue my education.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
CNM is the best way to start your education at a College. The classes are the perfect size and the professors are absolutely amazing. It will be the best choice to see if you like college. If you do, you can always continue your education at a 4 year college.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
I have attended CNM for 2 yrs straight. Although I find some of the classes I have taken to be a challenge, I worked hard and passed every class. I loved it!!
Describe the dorm life at your college.
No dorms here.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The cafe here at this campus is great. Employees are friendly and I like the food. It could use a little more variety.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
I am a single parent with 4 children ages 17, 14, 13, and 4. So no time for fun really. But I do enjoy reading when I get the chance.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
I can absolutely say that I got what I paid for. I cannot say enough positive things about this school. I am happy I made the choice to attend school here.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
The west side campus is small, three main buildings and a portable bookstore. Its nice and small and quiet compared to the main campus. I think smaller is better.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
First time students and older students like myself. I would be intimidated if I went to a larger school/campus.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa which is a honor society for 2 year colleges. I love it and the benefits. There are other organizations to join as well.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
It's probably great but I have no idea about this one.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
Security is here 24/7 and they are friendly. They are here when you need them.
