Review of California State University-San Bernardino
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
The key to college is being involved, you always want to be in a club, a Greek organization or even on a sports team. Not only does this boost your resume but it also gives you something to do in your free time, makes connections with faculty and students, and can actually help you in school because you tend to keep good grades when you are motivated by others.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
The academics at this school are actually really good and we have a lot of impacted majors due to the fact that are programs are some of the best. Just because it is a Cal State, do not under estimate the education aspect of the school because it is actually really good here. Yes some professors are not good and some are but that is like every school, the classes in general are not that hard and the school offers a lot of resources just in case.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
Dorm life, it is something that will definitely benefit your education and overall process of being in college. I have never dormed but I have seen people dorm and I will say you generally get better grades and are more involved in campus activities compared to the average student. Yes it cost a lot of money to dorm but it is well worth the amount of money because you get to experience being on your own and living the college life.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
I will be completely honest the food here at Cal State is not amazing and they do not have a lot of super healthy options but the food is here is not bad. They do have some healthy options and some good food and they are working on building a restaurant so we are excited for that. I personally eat here on occasion and it not build but it honestly depends on you and what you like.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
I will be honest there are times where there is nothing to do and then there are a ton of things to do. When it comes to like holidays, the school usually has events but on an average day not so much. There are a lot of seminars and workshops that you can attend that will better your education but as the school gets bigger, the more events they will hold. Joining a club or living on campus will honestly make you busy enough but it is a fun busy. You can go to our big dances, our sports games, and just hang out in the student union with everyone and anyone.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
Clubs and activities are a great way to be involved and I highly recommend it. This will not only help you make connections with other students and faculty but it will also boost your resume. These people are going to be there for you whether you need their help on a resume, community service, or just breaking out of you shell.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
Greek life, it is honestly one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I came in thinking that they are just a bunch of party boys and I was wrong, they are a group of men that get great grades, highly involved on campus, and do community service. Yes everyone knows they have parties but that is a small percent of Greek life, you meet so many people and make so many connections I 100% recommend it.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
I know a lot about campus safety because I work close with campus and know how they run everything and I can tell you that they try their best to keep everyone on campus safe. Yes there are always improvements to be made but I must say they do a good job and I feel safe going here every day.
