Zachary's Review

Review of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania

from Mount Joy, PA

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

The professors are very knowledgeable in their respective fields. In my experience, if a student asks a question that the professor can not answer, most professors will be willing to research the question and return with an answer at a later time. Unlike some larger schools, classes are not taught by graduate students, but solely by professors. These professors are not just committed to educating the students, but are just as determined to continue expanding their own horizons, creating an incredible learning environment.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

Despite its out of the way location, there is always something to do in the general area. The various groups, clubs, and organizations on campus hold a multitude of events throughout the semester, offering cheap or even free forms of entertainment. Additionally, life in the residence halls is perfect for fostering new friendships and really offers a sense of community within your floor or throughout your building.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

As a part of the Pennsylvania State School System, Bloomsburg offers a very affordable tuition. Additionally, there are many different grants and scholarships that incoming student can apply for to ease the costs of tuition and housing. While it may not carry the same prestige associated with some of the larger or better-known schools, the education received is still of an excellent quality.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

The best tip I can give to new students is to get involved. Whatever it is you may be interested in, find the organization and join. If there isn't already a group related to your interests, you can always start your own. Take advantage of this time in your life when you are no longer stuck under your parents but aren't yet out all alone. Try new things, make new friends, and just get involved.
