Situated on a hill overlooking its surrounding community and the Susquehanna River, Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania is a 4-year public institution and part of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. BloomU is home to colleges of Liberal Arts, Business, Education, and Science granting bachelor’s degrees in 57 fields of study. For community-minded students, Bloomsburg hosts an annual effort called The Big Event where thousands of volunteers are placed at hundreds of community service sites. To provide a recreational break, Bloomsburg hosts the Quest outdoor adventure program featuring on-campus ropes courses and a climbing tower as well as off-campus trips.
