APSU is very student centered and even though it's a small Division 1 school, you get to know your professors very well. There are a lot of different clubs and organizations and anyone can find a fit here. Clarksville is 10 minutes from Ft. Campbell--so the city is very military and student friendly.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
It's a great value. If you are out of state, you can get a waiver and pay in state tuition by getting a 24 or higher on your ACT. If you want to get involved and care about your academic career, APSU is a great school.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
I'm a Nursing student so I'm always studying! The academic rigor is probably average--we have specialized programs that are hard to find elsewhere, yet also the main programs people tend to major in.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
I lived in the all girls, worst dorm(oldest) on campus and even it was great! I was in the center of everything and the laundry facilities and rooms were great.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The food is awesome. Even now that I'm off campus, I get a meal plan. I was surprised at the healthy choices it has for being a southern school. Really fresh and good. The cooks have a ton of experience. They even bring in local farmers so you can see where your food is coming from.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
There is only 1 mall in Clarksville, and Nashville is 45 minutes south--lots to do in Nashville. I feel like there are a lot of activities offered on campus for students. Concerts, shows, movies, etc. Our baseball and basketball teams are great. We have great cheer/dance teams as well. All sporting events are free to students and the teams are fun to watch!
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
The out of state waiver is huge, or if you are from TN it's a great value. It's the worst value if you pay the out of state, compared to other TN colleges out of state.

Some of the buildings are considered haunted. There are sink holes that they have decorated on campus.

Great for down to earth students on a budget. Also great for specific majors like Criminal Justice with the Homeland Security concentration, great nursing and agriculture. Known for business as well.

There's lots of religious groups, athletics and intramurals. Lots of employment opportunities on campus as well. You can always community service and volunteer opportunities.

I feel very safe on campus. Clarksville has some crime for sure, but I feel our campus police as well as Clarksville police do a great job.
