Anderson University is a perfect match for anyone who is a little apprehensive about the transition from high school to college! It's a small, but growing, campus with professors who make time to know you as a student and help you with your academic endeavors. Not to mention, AU has a close-knit community of students that grow together not just academically, but spiritually!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Absolutely make the time to visit! AU has wonderful Student Ambassadors that tour you around campus and answer any questions you might have!
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
Anderson University has a pretty hearty curriculum. They stay true to their vision to cultivate students who are sound in education and faith. Not only will you gain knowledge, you'll gain your own perspective for defending your knowledge too!
Describe the dorm life at your college.
Dorm life at AU is certainly on the rise. They've recently constructed brand new residence halls that are very clean and comfortable. However, if you're a fan of vintage dorms, Anderson is also home to 100 year old buildings that differ slightly from one room to the next-- with a ton of personality! Also, each hall is assigned to a Resident Advisor, who is carefully selected by Resident Life! These are truly some of the best people you'll meet on campus; they truly invest in their residents!
Describe the food and dining at your college.
Anderson houses three separate dining facilities. The first is the generic cafeteria, which can occasionally be a little disappointing, but overall is pretty good! Certainly lots of options. Second is the Grille, which is somewhat of an on-the-go atmosphere for those days where you only have 15 minutes to catch a bite to eat. Lastly is Food for Thought, which has recently been re-done to house three separate styles of cuisine: Mexican, Deli sandwich and an outstanding Salad Bar.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
The Student Activities office is constantly hard at work planning fun events for students! Recently, there have been fairs on the Intramural fields, weekend retreats, and Homecoming events with bonfires (s'mores and hotdogs included for free!). However, if you really decide you'd like to head out of town for a bit, Greenville boasts tons to do, or you can head out to one of the lakes near by! There is always something to do nearby, whether during the week or the weekend!
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
Campus safety at AU is fantastic. They are truly committed to ensuring every student's safety, with patrolling the borders of campus at night to sending out e-mails if there is anything that students should keep an eye out for.
