Overview

The Alaska Vocational Technical Center (AVTEC) is a vocational training school in southern Alaska. With a mission of developing students’ skills for the workplace, AVTEC offers training programs in 16 technical fields of study. Utilizing its campus just off of Resurrection Bay, AVTEC’s Alaska Maritime Training Center provides numerous nautical training courses and is a US Coast Guard approved facility. For students who wish to live on campus, the Department of Residential Life features dorm and family housing.
