Alabama State University is a well rounded school. The school offers a great amount of oppurtunities for the students that attend the school. The school is located around a lot of stores and businesses that offer plenty of jobs to the students attending school.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
My advice for any other students would to be to network. The people on the campus are really nice and help their peers in anything. Meet new people and people in your major and get to know them so you can have that mentor who can guide you through your major and classes.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
The teachers are friendly and connected to the students. They care about the students and want what's best for the students. They pay attention to each student and make you feel important. They are always there to help a student reguardless of if you even take that teacher or class.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
The dorms are nice and are located right in the middle of the campus. Being located in the middle of the campus is a benefit because the class rooms are as well located in the middle of the classes. The freshmen dorms are located right in the center which is good for the students who are still trying to learn the campus. The freshmen dorms are right across from the academic center which is composed of the financial aid center, banker and academic counselors. The dorms are also located right next to the cafeteria so it is not a far walk for the students to go and eat.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The food and dining is always neat and clean. The service is great and the staff are always smiling and making you feel welcomed. The food is freshly made in front of the students so you can see what is on the menu for the day. Often there is events in the cafeteria which gives the students a chance to interact and meet new students that they might not see everyday or in their classes.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Many events are held on campus throughout the week. From student organizations to private organizations hosting events for the students. Most of the events are in the center of the campus which makes it easier for all the students to attend them. There is also a game room located on campus composed of many different games and tables for the students to use. Also in the game room there is many TV's for the students to watch any games and shows that they cannot do in their dorms if they do not have a television.
