William R. Nagel Scholarship

The William R. Nagel Scholarship is in memory of Bill Nagel who graduated from East High School in Appleton in 1979 and from Michigan Technological University in 1984 with a B.S.E.E. degree in Computer Design. Bill had worked for Boeing Airplane Company in Seattle for a short time and then spent the rest of his years as a Product Engineering Supervisor with the Buick Division of General Motors. He suffered an untimely death in 1997. He was an outstanding son and enjoyed a number of non-work activities including snorkeling, golf, handball, and dancing. It is the desire of the family to remember the best times in Bill’s life by helping others in a small way to attend Michigan Technological University. This scholarship is for graduates of the following high schools who plan on attending Michigan TechnologicalUniversity in Houghton, MI: Appleton public and private high schools, St. Mary Central High School, and public high schools in Freedom, Hortonville, Kaukauna, Kimberly, Little Chute, Neenah, and Menasha. Selection will be based on academic achievement with financial need a consideration.
