Wentcher Foundation

The Wentcher Foundation awards college scholarships to high-performing Chicago Public Schools students to help them pursue higher education. Funded through the generosity of benefactor Ernest Wentcher, the Foundation supports students on the basis of academic merit, character, and financial need.

The Foundation awards 50+ renewable scholarships to CPS students annually. Scholarships may be used at any accredited, not-for-profit college or university of the student's choice within the United States. Wentcher Scholars who continue to meet the Foundation's guidelines may renew their scholarships for up to four years of undergraduate support.
