The Sam Abell Endowed Scholarship

Sam Abell, the well known and respected American photographer whose career spans portions of 6 decades, has been teaching at MMW+C, as well as other respected institutions, for many years. Recently, a private fund raising effort was made to establish an endowed scholarship in honor of Sam and his love of the craft. We are ecstatic to have been selected the recipient custodian for those funds, enabling one worthy student each year to attend any workshop here in Maine. The tuition award will be made to a deserving student who demonstrates outstanding ability and some financial need. Merit shall be determined by the submission of a 20-image portfolio, along with a current tax return and the application form. No mailed in submissions will be accepted.
