T.C. Gill Blue Devil Scholarship

Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio

This scholarship is to support an academically- accomplished student athlete graduating from Sharpsville Area School District who has demonstrated an interest in or plans to pursue a career that can benefit those with special needs. Special needs describes individuals who require assistance for disabilities that may be medical, mental, or psychological. Applicants may also be planning to pursue a career that helps those with special needs such as in the fields of medicine (i.e., physician’s assistant, nurse, surgeon, dentist), allied healthcare (i.e., PT, OT, SLP), social work, or education (i.e., teacher). In fact, most careers may impact those with special needs. For example, architecture plans, designs and construction of accessible buildings for persons with disabilities; and engineering designs innovations to tools or systems that help improve the quality of life for persons with disabilities.
