Scholarship is awarded to those seeking a degree relating to the care and protection of animals. In the event there are no applicants with this degree path, the scholarship will be open to other degree paths as long as all other selection criteria is met. The student must be a graduate of Attica High School, have lived in the AHS school district for at least 12 months prior to the application, be accepted as a full-time student at an accredited two or four-year public or private university, have a 2.0 or higher GPAand show some financial need. Letters of reference are strongly encouraged. Degree and career paths that have priority include the following: animal grooming, veterinary technician, animal science studies, animal science, livestock management, farm animal breeding, dairy science, animal nutrition, animal health sciences, wildlife ecology, animal biology, wildlife, fish and conservation biology, etc. If there are no applicants for the aforementioned degree paths, the scholarship selection committee will consider those applicants that meet all other selection criteria.
