This scholarship is for applicant(s) that exhibit the ability to form strong friendships and relationships with others. The characteristics of these friendships and relationships would consistently display many of the following qualities: the tendency to desire what is best for the other; sympathy and empathy; honesty - even in situations where it may be difficult for others to speak the truth; mutual understanding and compassion; trust; positive reciprocity, equal give-and-take between two parties; the ability to be oneself and express one's feelings and make mistakes without fear of judgment. The applicant(s) should have a strong work ethic and display a commitment to community/volunteer service. Applicants must be a graduate of Fountain Central High School and must have lived in the Fountain Central High School District for at least 12 months prior to the application. Applicants must be accepted as a full-time student at any two or four-year accredited college, university, or technical school and must have a 2.5 or higher GPA. Applicants must be pursuing a career in health care. Health care careers are those that are related to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease, illness, injury, and other physical and mental impairments in humans. Health care is delivered by practitioners in medicine, chiropractic, dentistry, pharmacy, allied health and other care providers. It refers to the work done in providing primary care, secondary care, and tertiary care, as well as in public health. Priority is given to students that exhibit financial need.
