Diverse Minds Writing Challenge - Washington D.C. Metro Area

This contest is for high school students from the Washington, D.C. Metro Area in 9-12th grades and enrolled in D.C. public schools, Montgomery County or Prince George's County public schools in Maryland. Applicants must have not previously published an original manuscript for profit. To enter this contest, applicants must write and illustrate a book and submit a manuscript that teaches elementary-aged children about her tolerance and diversity can improve our world. Submissions should provide a story that children can identify and relate to and promote a greater understanding of different cultures, lifestyles, and beliefs. Submissions may be fiction or nonfiction. Please see the contest rules on the website for more details and information.
