I can honestly say I have never been at a school where the teachers care so much about their students. My professors have always made themselves available for out of classroom assistance and are willing to go over tricky topics if you find yourself struggling. I love that the educators are flexible and willing to talk about ideas that are current to society and yet are still able to tie them together with the material of the class. Harper allows you to learn and grow simultaneously.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
Coming from a rural town to a big suburb where Harper is located was a bit intimidating for me. I applied knowing that I would not be seeing familiar faces on a daily basis. I'm now going into my fourth semester and couldn't be happier with my decision to attend Harper. I can't help but constantly talk about how much I enjoy my time at the school. The campus is aesthetically pleasing, it's obvious that the school representatives take pride in their establishment. Each classroom is equipped with top of the line technology which makes the learning experience more enjoyable. There are people throughout the school that are genuinely there for you and want to see you do well even after you leave Harper.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
Those who attend Harper College recieve the same education one would at a 4-year university, the only difference is the price. I've gone for three semesters and have yet to pay the amount one would for a single year at a big university. Those who choose to go to Harper will: pay significantly less while still recieving a university-level education, have smaller class sizes for more one-on-one time, & be able to use top of the line technology.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Harper is great for all students young and old. There are programs that help adults, returning to school years later, get back on track and comply with their busy schedules. It's a great transitional school for graduating high school seniors who aren't sure they are ready to leave home for a big university. And it's great for students who want to save some money. Harper offers a variety of clubs and sports, there are activities and productions taking place around the campus all throughout the year, and because of the welcoming atmosphere, it's easy for all students to fit comfortably in the Harper environment.
