William Jessup does a great job of making all students feel welcomed and apart of the small school community. This is a great school if you are looking for a Christian education with students and professors that actually care about you and your education.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
The school is small however this means that you see the same people all of the time. It is very easy to connect with other students in class and at Chapel. I am a commuter students and still feel very connected with the different events that take place on and off campus.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
This is the 3rd college i have attended. I have been to a CSU and a community College. Jessup is a significant level up in terms of work load and expectations from community college. I would say the workload is very similar to a California State University but more easily managed due to the fact that the professors are easily accessed.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
I am a commuter but i have heard nothing but great things about the dorms and apartments on campus. The dorms consists of several rooms connected to a shared bathroom, kitchen, and living room. The facilities are great but they have relatively strict rules about boys and girls in each others rooms.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The Cafe has great buffet style food and always has a large variety of hot, cold, healthy, and not so healthy options for everyone. There is also a place called The Shack which is essentially an expensive 7-Eleven. The options on campus are pretty limited but there is lots of great food around campus.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Rocklin is a relatively high class area so some things are expensive. Go to the campus events! Lots of students take day trips to Lake Tahoe, San Fransisco, and Apple Hill.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
The school is definitely pricy but you get a lot of great resources such as great students (that really want to be there), amazing professors, and some great modern facilities.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
If you want a small school where you can meet everyone within a semester or two come here! The campus has a very friendly vibe and always feel safe on campus.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
The campus is in a great part of town. I have never had any problems even when walking back from the library to my car at 2 am. The campus also has a 24 hour security team that will unlock or escort you anywhere around campus.
