western iowa tech community college is really a great school, specially to start out at. the people here are quite friendly and truly try and help you succeed. also, the class sizes here are perfect for you to get attention and one-on-one time with your teacher, but are also big enough that you don't feel like your alone.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
i strongly suggest to visit the campus, the main campus is beautiful during the fall. there are tours of the campus given every wednesday and there are general and specific visit days. plus if those don't work with your schedule you could schedule a private visit.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
they try and push you and make sure you know what you are doing when you graduate, but they don't make the courses impossible to pass.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
they have a great variety of dorms to choose from which is great! plus they have a variety of activities that take place in the dorms and free events for the students off campus.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
can be expensive if all you get is fried food. but they have a great salad bar, some awesome specials and have the best breakfast ever!
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
in sioux city there is a variety of activites that you caqn choose from. there is a rec center with three courts and a rock wall, and also an events center which has concerts, hockey and a large variety of other events. there is also roller rinks and plenty of places to golf indoors and outdoors if that is an interest.

we have a cool event called witstock. it is like western iowa techs verizion of woodstock and has a battle of the bands.
