Review of University of the Pacific

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

I am a bioengineer pursuing a focus in medicine. Although every school has its few rotten apples when it comes to professors, UOP has remarkable professors who dedicate their time to helping you understand the material. The small class sizes allow you to get on a first name bases with the professor and the students. The courses are tough, specially the science ones, but you will be much better prepared for the real world and graduate school.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

Since the school is a beautiful small campus, you meet and befriend so many different people and can play sports on the grass or go hang out at the UC. Although its in stockton, it is in the great part of stockton. The only bad thing is that the school has faced its few townspeople intruding every now and then onto some unauthorized buildings.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

It is VERY pricy, maybe more that it should be, however I believe its one of the best educations and personal attention you can receive at a California university.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

I suggest that future students budget their money and make sure they know what they want to do because paying almost 50 k a year may not be the best plan if you are going to not know which path you are pursuing.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

This school is great for pharmacy, dental, business, and engineering students. We have a great new engineering building and engineers have many privileges on campus. The science courses are rigorous but you can guarantee that you will come out with the best skills and knowledge.
