Review of University of Southern California

Describe your college in three sentences.

best decision i've ever made. usc provides the quintessential college experience for those who want it, while also offering more alternative and "less-traveled" paths for those who aren't as conventional in their college search/career.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

study, get good grades, but also make sure you're well rounded in your extracurriculars.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

usc has a reputation for being a "party" school, which isn't necessarily true. you definitely need to study and work hard to succeed here.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

all freshman dorms are on campus, other usc housing is located off campus (but still fairly close). as a first year, you have a wide variety of options of dorms to choose from which is great.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

there are 3 dining halls on campus and an array of other restaurants. lots of options to choose from.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

downtown la is always bustling with something fun and exciting. santa monica is only a short drive away, and west hollywood/mid city is right in between. there's always something to do in la whether it's in terms of sports, music, eating, shopping, etc.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

you're definitely getting your moneys worth with usc. the trojan family is so strong and our alumni really do make a difference.

Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus

before each football game, we kick the flagpoles on the south side of campus for good luck.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

studious students that also like to have fun.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

there are a range of clubs on campus, you'll definitely find something.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

around 1 in 4 students are involved in greek life. it's great for people who want to be involved in it, but those who choose not to participate aren't left out either.

How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?

campus is increasingly getting safer, especially with the construction of the university village. university yellow jackets (security) patrol campus within a 2-mile radius of campus. recently, usc has also collaborated with uber to offer students free uber rides (within the 2-mile radius) from 7pm-2am to ensure student safety.
