The classes can be challenging at times, but are very worth while and you will learn plenty. The science classes tend to be quite challenging but aren't too bad. The philosophy classes are quite interesting and make you think quite a lot about things that you probably have before. Overall, you will learn but won't kill yourself in the process.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
Scranton is a fun place to be. We just opened a new student center last year, it is quite amazing. We have plenty of sports, intramural sports, and clubs to keep everyone happy. The city is booming with plenty of things to do. There is a mall a few blocks away from campus along with a movie theater. Downtown is about 2-3 blocks away. There is a park few blocks up for those outdoor people. Whatever the need is, you will find it at Scranton. There will and is always something to do.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
The University of Scranton utilizes the money you pay very well. They have a top notch tutoring center. It provides many other services also, such as help with computers, essays/papers, etc. They have a wellness center and volunteer office. We have a great gym and recreational area, along with an outside sand volleyball pit, soccer field, tennis courts, and basketball court. Also, they have a new business building and will soon begin construction of the new science building. These are just the few things I can list off the top of my head. Overall, the University of Scranton is well worth your money.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Just study at least a little bit every day, and you will learn the material plus save yourself time from cramming and pulling all-nighters a few days before tests/quizzes. Try to stay active on campus somehow, whether it is clubs or sports. Most importantly take it easy and enjoy your time here.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
