Rosemary's Review

Review of University of Portland

from Las Vegas, NV

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

I can honestly say that I have never felt so well taken care of academically. All of the teachers here are dedicated to their job and to the students. They go out of their way to make sure that every student is keeping up with the material. The class sizes are small enough that you become friends with your professor. You get to know them, they get to know you. You form a relationship based not only on learning, but on interaction.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

I simply love this school. The other students who go here are fun and caring. The classes are interesting. The campus life is abundant. If you need help in any arena, you can find it and there is always someone to talk to if you need an open ear.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

Since it is a private school, it is rather expensive. If you want to go into Business, Nursing, Engineering, Politics, or a related field than this is a great school. However, I wouldn't suggest this school or students on the art-sy side of the spectrum.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Get involved in every and any club in which you have an interest. This school is full of oppotunities, people to meet, and places to go, but you have to put in a little of the leg work to network to these groups.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

UP offers a top-notch education if you want to go into Business, Nursing, Engineering, Politics, or a related field.
