I have learned a lot in all of my classes at UNT so far. Most of the professors are really helpful with making sure that all of the students understand the information that is presented to them, and tailor the pace of the lessons accordingly.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
The city of Denton is one of the top cities for indie music in the country, and with the huge music college it seems like everyone here either plays music or knows people who do. It is also pretty close to Dallas, and the campus--while not the most beautiful campus in the country--is nice and has lots of old trees that look great during the fall.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
UNT has been named one of America's Best College Buys for many years, and is significantly more affordable than most other Texas universities. It is still more expensive than community college, but many students receive at least partial scholarships and since it is such a large university there are plenty of places to work on campus.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Paying the extra money to live in one of the newer dorms is worth it; the most recently built dorms at UNT more closely resemble apartments than traditional student dormitories. Many have private rooms and kitchenettes.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
The University of North Texas is perfect for any student who likes music or who gets along well with musicians. The school also has a lot of art students, and is likely the most liberal-minded university in Texas. Avid football fans might be disappointed in the school's football team, but they are still close-enough to Dallas that they can cheer for the Cowboys instead.
