UNF has everything you need in a 4-year education without the high price tag. You won't find a more diverse group of students anywhere else. Even the geese want to learn!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Don't bank on being able to park on-campus as there are more students with Blue Parking passes than parking spaces. In fact, the permits were oversold this past semester. The best option is to park in lots 18 or 53 and taking the shuttles to class. Arrive early so you're not late to class.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
I'm currently enrolled in the Brooks College of Health and the academic rigor is outstanding. Most professors who teach the daytime classes are full-time faculty. There are weekly assignments and exams every 2-3 weeks. You will learn a lot.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
I don't live on-campus
Describe the food and dining at your college.
Most of the food in Outtakes (the on-campus convenience store) is overpriced. There really isn't much to choose from - especially for people with food allergies or on special diets.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Enjoy Ogier Garden, the wildlife (including the geese that love our campus so much they turn the sidewalks green), the various lakes, the on-campus get-togethers, etc.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
I HIGHLY recommend the Brooks College of Health. You will not find a better college in this area to major in health sciences of any kind. I'm attending for my Bachelor's degree in Health Administration. The dean, the director of my program, and the advisors have never steered me wrong when I need help. Most of the professors really work hard to make sure their students are getting the most from their education. I can count on one hand the number of professors that have been so-so. They don't stay around for long.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Those majoring in health care or business.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
The police are on duty 24/7 and there are blue call boxes placed all over campus if you need 911 assistance or an officer to walk you to your car. I always feel safe here.
