from Winston-Salem, NC
Describe your college in three sentences.
The programs at this school are intended for those that are serious about theater and performance. 5 schools of study, music, theater, film, dance, and design & production, make up the various aspects of the UNCSA experience and each school is top notch. It is a hard but worthwhile school to go to.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Be prepared for long hours, long assignments, and little satisfaction initially, it takes time to come into your talents and skills at this school.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
design and production specifically is going to be a HARD program, 20-60 hours of theater crew a week on top of both arts and academic classes.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
decent dorms, mostly coed, decent apartments and cheap housing easily available around campus for upperclassmen.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
my least favorite part of the school, a truly underwhelming cafeteria and snack bar.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
whatever you want?
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
arguably the best value for a theater education money can buy.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
Avid theater lovers, hard workers, dedicated souls.
