Review of University of New Hampshire-Main Campus

from Durham, NH

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

As a student who applied to many colleges, most of which were tier 4 or Ivy league, I never expected to end-up at UNH. I thought that it wouldn't be challenging enough for me, or wasn't good enough. Boy, was I WRONG! UNH offers a multitude of classes ranging from Dairy to Astrology. There are so many options, and so many great professors whom are willing to help you out in any way possible.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

I have met so many friends here at UNH. Almost everyone you meet is open and friendly, willing to be your friend. As UNH is a intermediate-sized school, it's small enough to feel more rural and homey, but large enough so that you never see all the same people just in one day.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

UNH is a bit more pricey than other state schools (especially out-of-state tuition), but I believe is worth the money. They offer fairly decent scholarships and financial aid to help lessen the costs.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

My tips for prospective students would be to branch out! Don't be afraid to sit with some random people at dinner and strike up a conversation. Leave your door open in your dorm room, join a club! It's the best way to make friends.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

Great for students who live in or near New Hampshire who are looking for a college that offers variety (if you don't know what you want to study just yet) and is large enough to meet countless friends!
