All of the classes at the University of New Hampshire are unique. Some are big, some are small, and each professor has a different teaching style. There is a lot of variety, but one thing remains the same: each student is treated well, and is given the chance to absorb an incredible amount of knowledge. First semester, I took classes ranging from junior level french, to a general education requirement like Ecology and Values. Either way, I was exposed to different aspects of each subject that I didn't expect, and I was bettered by that. My Psychology class had 250 students, whereas my French class had 10. Class size depends on the subject, and before coming to UNH I thought class size was extremely important. However, the professors at the university are committed to making you feel as though you are performing your best and they are committed to teaching their students to the best of their abilities. Even in my class of 250, I can confidently say that each student felt as though they were important. Not only am I learning a lot, I enjoy going to class every day and cannot wait for next semester to begin.
Do you enjoy the experience at your school?
I am really enjoying attending UNH. There are so many clubs and organizations to get involved in, ranging from the College Democrats, to the Organic Gardening Club, to Greek Life, to Fencing. There is truly a niche for everyone, and there is always something going on. Aside from academics, concerts and guests are brought to UNH to perform. In December, the comedian Bo Burnham came to the Whittemore Center. The dorms are above average and although campus incidents occur, as is inevitable with a school the size of UNH, I feel safe on campus. There is a free bus for students which travels to surrounding towns such as Portsmouth, Dover and Newmarket, and the nearby train station travels throughout the northeast (Boston, Portland, etc.) Even though UNH is situated in Durham, New Hampshire, I have never felt isolated whatsoever. I enjoy the classes, I enjoy the community, and I enjoy the social aspect of UNH.

The classes at UNH are challenging and worthwhile. I know few students who regularly skip class, because classes truly are enjoyable at UNH. The level of difficulty of classes, the number of clubs and organizations and the environment at UNH makes it truly worth the money.

As for prospective students, I would recommend taking a tour at UNH. The beauty of the campus is just icing on the cake, but it's worth seeing. Don't be afraid to ask about what kind of clubs and organizations are available, and once you attend UNH, don't be afraid to join them. Making friends is easy if you get involved, and it's completely worth your time.

Honestly, UNH is great for all types of students, no matter how cliche that sounds. There are dorms at UNH which cater to particular types of students and allow them to easily find their niche. For example, there are honors dorms, art dorms, chem-free dorms, and dorms for international students. I know bio-med majors, classics majors, art majors and theatre majors who are all extremely happy with UNH.
