Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

I am in the Engineering Department at UNR and I have never been worried about not know what is going on and understanding. If you don't understand you can go to any teacher you have and they can try to help you. It has all been well-paced and never really hard to get stuff done, yes it takes time, but you can work it out.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

I love attending UNR because the campus is beautiful, exactly what I was looking for and didn't have to go out of state. I even hang out there during the summer and go to the activities that UNR puts on because it is fun. They make everything worth while to attend. Everyone is nice, you get to know new people, and the campus isn't huge where you feel alone.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

For what I pay as a instate resident is cheaper than a lot of places, and realize what I am getting when I pay them. We now have an amazing library, or Knowledge Center, with amenities I still haven't discovered. Being an engineering student their DataWorks Lab is amazing. Our Student Union is new too with amazing food, and places to hold meetings and activities. Make sure to take advantages of these things.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Look at the campus first, if you are not happy where you are going to walking around all day, then it is not a place you are going to want to be. Talk with either a couple of advisers, students or teachers to get a feel for what is going to be like. Don't go in cold turkey expecting to be everything you want you need to do some research.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

It is a great school for people like me who don't like being in a very crowded school, or having to walk a half hour or more just to get to your next class. The setting appeals to people who love nature, seeing the seasons change, and older brick buildings. It is a place you can sit and enjoy rose gardens, fountains, and a very small lake.
