Review of University of Illinois Chicago

from Lansing, IL

Do you feel you’re learning a lot?

As much as UIC offers, it's hard not to learn a lot. Some of the professors may be be tough, but they are dedicated to their work, and have no problems helping you understand subjects better. They will even help you find outside resources, if you need extra help.

Do you enjoy the experience at your school?

In high school, I knew UIC was where I wanted to be. Now, as a sophomore, there is no difference. I love the school, and you can always find something to do. People complain that it's boring here on campus, but it's really all about what type of person you are. You can't just expect the fun to fall in your lap. Trust me, if you find a few friends you can always find some way to enjoy yourself.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

The school does provide the students with many activities whether it for academics of just for fun. However, I think we pay just a little too much for the dorms, just because of the location.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Go to class! Many students don't attend class because they think they know everything, it's boring, or they are too tired, but that is only going to hurt you in the end. Hey, if you're paying to be here, utilize everything UIC offers. It will be very beneficial.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

UIC is great for those wanting to pursue a career in the medical and even business fields.
