A very active and fun campus with very friendly people. The atmosphere is gentle and caring along with competitive students looking to excel in life. It is a great place to be!
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Stay on top of things, and get things done early. Make sure you get involved ( which is really easy) because that is how you will meet great people. The most important tip is to have fun there! If you become to embedded in the school work, you will find yourself not having a good time. So have fun!
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
I wish there was a 4.5 star. The classes here are fairly rigorous depending on the classes you take and how many you take. If your looking to challenge yourself or take it easy, both can be done. But for the most part, it's college and classes can be hard.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
It is what you make of it and where you are. Avery point does not have dorms, yet it has apartments. If your looking for a good time, it can be found.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
There is Fin's Cafe around which is nice and has decent food. But since you live off campus, you better hope you can learn how to cook or else it's Ramen noodles every day!
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
what isn't there? Movies, Games, Late-night, partys. The list is endless. And this is just whats going on at the campus. Imagine what you could do off campus as well.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
It's the UCONN credits without the UCONN cost. Plus here, it is really personal between students and faculty. It's wonderful.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
There is a haunted lighthouse in the middle of the ocean not far out. We also died the presidents hair blue for fun and we have many outdoor cookouts.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
It is a very well rounded school offering many classes for many different people.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
There is so much going on. Things like bowling, movie night, Easter egg hunts, ambassadors, kickboxing, sailing and much more. Plus, if you don't like any clubs here, all you need is a few friends to start a club.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
Greek life?
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
These guys are locked and loaded. Real cops, with real guns. But on the bright side, they help out all the time with car problems. They even gave me a jump one time. As to campus saftey, there are no problems here.
