tuskegee university is a great school. coming from an ethnically diverse high school, i feel this university is rich in history and culture. the academic curriculum for students interested in the sciences is phenomenal because these programs offer hands on experiences.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
for prospective students you need to be prepared to do things for yourself, yet be willing to ask questions when you need assistance. the upperclassmen are helpful and most of the staff is supportive. there is a tutoring center and there are organizations that you can get involved in once you get situated with college life.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
some of the courses are moderately fair while others are intense. there are support systems in place if you need help. it is important to meet with your advisers and instructors who can assist you. i have taken some advanced courses, as an incoming freshman, that have been very difficult and even stressful at times. however, most of my instructors have supported my efforts and will make themselves or other support staff available to assist a student in need.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
dormitory life is interesting. sometimes there are activities that take place which bring about camaraderie within the dormitory such as the dorm step show competition. there are also other events that take place on the different floors in the dormitory. one downside to living in the dormitory is the microwave policy.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
presently the original dining hall is undergoing renovations. in the interim, another facility is used to accommodate students. this dining area can be overcrowded at times and servings and choices are limited. however, there are two other eateries on campus if you don't like cafeteria-style food. off campus and in the city of tuskegee there are five fast food restaurants (quiznos, mcdonald's kfc, etc.) and at least three other local eateries. from what i understand, the renovations for the original cafeteria will be completed in the near future.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
if you want to have fun on campus there are seasonal sports to attend such as football and basketball games. in addition, different organizations host various events on campus. there are talent and fashion shows as well. if you want to have fun off campus auburn and montgomery are nearby towns not too far from tuskegee. there are also a host of parties students can attend on and off campus.

considering the cost of the school, the location, and the hands on experiences, i feel the university provides its students with a stimulating and worthwhile learning experience.

tuskegee university has a rich history that began with booker t. washington the first president of the university. booker t. washington was an author, an educator and a political leader. george washington carver a renowned scientist, inventor and professor at tuskegee revolutionized the world of agriculture. the first squadron of african-american pilots to fight in ww ii trained at tuskegee and became known as the red tails or the tuskegee airmen.
