Grace's Review

Review of Texas A & M University-Kingsville

from Bastrop, TX

How are you enjoying your time at this college?

I loved my first year at TAMUK and met amazing people along the way, so much so that it was sad to leave at the end of the spring semester. There are so many opportunities offered when you look for them and many ways to have fun. Making friends with professors helps to get better experiences that will help in your prospective field. I love this campus and everything that I got to experience over the year.

What tips can you share with prospective students?

Yes, college is focused on getting an education and making good grades but do not let that be your full focus. Take time to yourself, make friends, go dancing, go spend a Saturday at the beach, or cook dinner with a group of friends. The friends you make along the way will impact your life in ways you will never believe until you see it happening. Now that being said still focus on school work but let loose at times.

In what clubs or organiziations have you participated and how have they impacted your overall experience?

I started my year by attending Javelina Camp. 10/10 totally recommend getting to meet new people let loose have some fun it's an amazing experience. I was involved in the Wildlife Society and fishing club. Both offered many amazing opportunities that I would not have experienced otherwise.

How has your college supported your career development and future goals?

TAMUK offers many amazing hands-on options especially for the Range and Wildlife Management Majors. Each professor encourages and helps in whatever ways they can to help get better opportunities and experiences for the students.
