Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Get your financial aid done ahead of time, those lines are ridiculous! Join lots of clubs, and become familiar with the campus and peers. Student government knows everything, so go to the meetings they're open.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
The wide-span of majors on campus are ridiculous, there should be no reason as to why you can't find something to suit you. My major is computer science and teachers are very hands on. All class sizes are a reasonable size of 30-50 students at max and give you one on one attention that may be required.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
Dorm life could be a little better, which is why we are currently under construction, and so far renovations that have been made look wonderful.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The food is pretty amazing, especially fried fish Fridays and wing Wednesdays, and college students dream!
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
There are TONS of activities on campus everyday to keep you occupied outside of class. We have game rooms, TV rooms, and sometimes forums, guest speakers, and events are held. The most recent we held a concert on campus open to only our students.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
You can't put a price on happiness, and I am an out of state student. my tuition is 30,000 a year and although it is a pain and struggle sometimes I am happy at my HBCU and love my experience.
