Review of SUNY Brockport

Describe your college in three sentences.

Brockport is a welcoming and wonderful college. Classes are challenging and interesting, but clubs and activities are just as important. I am so glad I chose Brockport, I could not be happier there.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Apply early so you have plenty of time to make a decision. Also, considering applying to the Honors College. They give great scholarships and I'm so glad to be a member myself.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

The classes are just challenging enough to make them interesting and yet still have time to be involved around campus. I have had several incredible teachers already, so I am very happy with my academic experience so far.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

I was part of the Honors Living Learning Community my freshman year and that was were I ended up meeting all of my best friends and my roommates for this year. I would recommend living in the corridor style freshman dorms, because I think that made it a lot easier to meet people and form lasting friendships.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

I came to Brockport with little expectations after hearing a lot of horror stories about college food, but the dining halls are actually really good here. They have a lot of variety and the quality is very good for a college. I have the unlimited meal plan and it's been just enough for me, I am very happy with Brockport's food.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

The Main Street of downtown Brockport is only a few minutes away from campus and it has many great restaurants and shops. Most food places deliver right to the dorms, which is really great. Brockport is also a short drive from Rochester, which has several great museums and concert venues.
