SGU Is a beautiful school. They have an amazing staff, who regularly go out of their way to help perspective students. Their campus is small, but well kept and good for walking when you need to clear your head.
Do you have any tips for prospective students?
Find your niche, it is a really small school but there are groups of people who are really close who you will be close to for the rest of your life. You get to know everyone a little but once you are in that close group or club things can become easier.
Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?
I have not experienced this nor has my sister talked about it much
Describe the dorm life at your college.
I'm told the dorms are decently comfortable. They just got new beds so it should be better than I've been told. When I went to check on them they were under construction.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
The cafeteria isn't the greatest food, it's edible. If you bring a few seasoning with you in you can make it taste pretty good. I know it is better than any other cafeteria I've been in
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
You can use the gym at any point that it's open. There is Racquetball, basketball, an indoor track, a pool, and many other forms of physical activity available in the gym. There are many student run things like the Zombie game they do spring semester. There are dances and games put on by clubs. There is disc golf set up all over campus.
Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?
It is an expensive school but there are a lot of scholarships. It is small so the teachers can give more personal help to the students who need it.
Share any unusual traditions or locations on campus
The monks on campus are all very fun. Almost every time I've been on campus they have brightened my day just a little, they have helped so much in getting into school.
Which types of students will excel at your college?
As a homeschool student I look forward to going to school, but the thought of a big school like OU scared me. If you want to study theology SGU is the way to go.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
As yet I have not experienced them. I know there are a lot, I don't know what they do aside from the occasional dance.
Are you involved in any clubs or activities?
There are several of the funny letter things. I'll probably join one.
How would you describe campus safety? Do you feel safe on campus?
I have never heard of anything bad happening on campus, aside from a student microwaving foil and starting a fire. It wasn't a bad fire it didn't leave her room. The security makes regular sweeps of campus and there have been no problems that I have heard them dealing with
