Southern University is the only historically black college or university (HBCU) to have different branches throughout a state. By branching out, it has become one the most diverse HBCUs in America.
Describe the dorm life at your college.
The dorms are great. Not too big and not too small. The renovations being made to the dorms are even better.
Describe the food and dining at your college.
Just like a creole home, Southern offers wonderful food from the Cajun perspective.
What’s there to do for fun at your college?
Stay involved. There are many clubs and auxiliaries to join or try out for. Meet people and explore the wonderful city of Baton Rouge.

Scholarship opportunities vary greatly at SU! For each major there are either generous scholarships or grand internships! Take advantage of any money that is being GIVEN to you! A free education is way better than no education!

Southern is big on music and sports! If you are a singer then Southern is your college. If you are a very artistic person then Southern is your college! If you play any sport and want to make a family bond with a District A team then Southern is your college! And especially if you love to play music or dance to it in any kind of way then SOUTHERN IS DEFINITELY YOUR COLLEGE!

Campus safety is pretty tight. Campus police rides around in their cars routinely throughout the day and night. You will feel very safe.
