Smaller school/class size creates a great opportunity to receive personalized education. Excellent high-paying job opportunities while in school and after graduation. Excellent opportunity to meet other high performing individuals and faculty.

Do you have any tips for prospective students?

Be prepared for strong academic rigor and expectations. SDSMT does not have the stress level that students in other school of mines programs experience.

Do you find there’s enough academic rigor at your school?

Expectations and academic rigor are challenging and you are expected to be responsible and engaged.

Describe the dorm life at your college.

Interesting and varied experiences, dorms clean and well maintained.

Describe the food and dining at your college.

The food and dining on campus needs to be improved, but that is in the works.

What’s there to do for fun at your college?

Rapid City is a tourist destination, until you have seen Mount Rushmore you haven't seen Mount Rushmore. Lot of year-round activities available, malls/shopping, community and campus activities are available.

Do you feel you’re getting value for the money you’re spending on college?

SDSMT's tution rates are among the lowest in the country. Major employers seek out interns and graduates from this school from all over the world.

Which types of students will excel at your college?

Engineering, Computer technical based individuals, interdisciplinary program for the undecided available.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

Various clubs, sororities and fraternities, sports both at Div 2 level and intramural available, beginning boys D2 soccer team this year, SDSMT is in last year of D2 qualifying.

Are you involved in any clubs or activities?

Great for both sororities and fraternities, have joined Delta Sigma Phi myself!

Safe have not experienced any problems
